Helsinki Script 2016 was a success and the venue was sold out. The many international and domestic speakers were inspiring on stage and also seemed inspired by the event. As key speaker James Manos Jr put it "The whole experience was simply wonderful". "A milestone in Finnish TV Drama", says one of the 550 Nordic professionals who took part as a delegate.

James Manos (US)

James Manos, Jr. won the Emmy Award for writing his “College” episode of HBO’s groundbreaking series, "The Sopranos". After two seasons as Consulting Producer on the FX Golden Globe winning series, "The Shield", he went on to create and produce Showtime’s 8 year hit, "Dexter", which also earned multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and wins.

Tatjana Andersson, Helsinki Script

Tatjana Andersson (Serbia, Sweden)

Tatjana Andersson works as a story editor at SVT Drama. She is also greatly appreciated script consultant and lecturer. She grew up in Bosnia and Serbia. Tatjana studied Scandinavian languages at the University of Belgrade and she has a M.A. in Scandinavian literature from the University of Helsinki. Combining her passion for TV drama with experiences from diverse fields has equipped her with a fresh perspective on deep structure in serialised stories.

Piv Bernth (Denmark)

Piv Bernth is the Head of Drama at DR Fiction, whose latest productions include success series “Borgen” season I-III, “The Legacy” I + II and lately “Broke” and “Follow the Money”. Piv has earlier produced the Emmy award winning series “Nikolaj and Julie” and the internationally acclaimed “The Killing” season I-III. She is an executive producer on “The Bridge” season I-III produced by Nimbus Film for DR and “1864” produced by MISO film for DR.

Ivar Køhn (Norway)

Ivar Køhn was appointed as Head of Drama at the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) in November 2013, after six years leading the Development and Production Department at the Norwegian Film Institute. Former working experience includes TV-drama & Film Commissioner at the Norwegian Film Fund, Co-owner and Development Producer at Maipo Film, and Head of Development at Swedish Television Drama. He is currently Chairman of the Board at Nordic Film & TV Fund. He has also been a writer/creator for three TV-drama productions.

Sigurjón Kjartansson (Iceland)

Sigurjón Kjartansson is the Head of Development and a founding member of RVK Studios in Iceland. The company´s first drama series "Trapped" (2016), has been a great success all over Europe, including UK, Norway, Ireland and France. It will premiere on ZDF in Germany this fall. Sigurjón is the Writer and Executive Producer of "Trapped" and many other successful series, both drama and comedy, over the last 20 years.

Jane Gogan (Ireland)

Jane Gogan is responsible for the in-house produced Fair City and RTÉ’s commissioned drama. Commissioned drama series and events include Amber, a four part serial drama set in contemporary Dublin (Screenworks w. Rob Cawley and Gary Duggan/Dist. Content), and gangland drama Love/Hate (Octagon Films. W. Stuart Carolan/Dist. ITVGE). Three part political drama, Charlie (Touchpaper Television / Element Pictures w. Colin Teevan/Dist. Zodiak), a drama about the public life of former Taoiseach Charles J. Haughey was broadcast in 2015 and later in the year Billy Roche’s four part serial crime drama, Clean Break (Octagon Films/Dist. Content Films), was broadcast. For 2016 5-part series, Rebellion (Zodiak Media. W. Colin Teevan), tells the story of Ireland’s uprising in 1916.

Lars Christian Detlefsen (Denmark)

Lars Detlefsen is 49 years old and is half German and half Danish and lives in Copenhagen. For over 15 years he has worked at The National Filmschool of Denmark as a script teacher. Now he's a script doctor working with TV-series and movies, and I am the film commissioner at The West Danish Film Fund. He likes movies like Jaws, Fanny and Alexander, Sweet Sixteen, Mad Max, and Fucking Åmål and TV-shows like: Breaking Bad, In Treatment, Frasier, and Game of Thrones.

Petri Kemppinen (Nordic)

Petri Kemppinen is CEO of Nordisk Film & TV Fond since 2013. He has a MA in Communication from University of Helsinki, a background in journalism and publishing before starting his television and film career in the mid-1990s. Petri spent nine years at The Finnish Broadcasting Company, YLE, working among others as Commissioning Editor and Head of Youth Department. Between 2005 and 2013 he worked at The Finnish Film Foundation as Film Commissioner, Head of International Affairs and Development and finally Head of Production. He was a member of Eurimages' Board of Management 2006-2013.

Miikko Oikkonen (Finland)

Miikko Oikkonen is a showrunner, director, scriptwriter and novelist. He is a co-founder and partner of production company Fisher King. As a showrunner Oikkonen has done three primetime series: the fantasy series Nymphs (2013) for MTV3, medical thriller Replacements (2015) for commercial broadcaster Nelonen (channel 4 Finland), Nordic Noir series Bordertown for Yle (2016).

Andrea Reuter, Helsinki Script Guest Speaker

Andrea Reuter (Sweden, Finland)

Stockholm based Finlandswede Andrea Reuter works as a freelancing moderator and project manager. Amongst her regular customers are Göteborg Film Festival, where she at the Nordic Film Market prepares and moderates the annual two day seminar TV Drama Vision as well as the works in progress, and the Swedish Film Institute (where she worked for the International Department 2009-2011 as well as 2015).

Laura Suhonen

Laura Suhonen (Finland)

Laura Suhonen has worked as the head writer and script editor of Moskito Television from 2012. She has since won the Finnish National Television Academy’s Golden Venla Award for the best script of the year twice in a row, first for the series "Black Widows", then for "Hooked". She has also written a feature film and worked as an episode writer.

Kim Haldin

Kim Haldin (Finland)

Kim Haldin is a writer and journalist based in Espoo, Finland. During his studies at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Kim worked as head writer on "Velvet Sundown", an award-winning online role-playing game. Kim graduated in 2014 and has since been employed by Yle Areena, the Finnish Broadcasting Company's online streaming service.
