The bodies of all of the victims of the Tuesday's shootings in Kauhajoki have been identified, says the National Bureau of Investigation.

The head of the investigation, Jari Neulaniemi, says that DNA was used to identify the bodies, which had suffered considerable fire damage.

Neulaniemi also said that autopsies will determine if the victims died of gunshot wounds or as a result of the fire that was set by the shooter.

Eight female students, one male student, and one male staff member were killed when student Matti Saari opened fire on fellow students in a classroom at a vocational school in Kauhajoki in the west of Finland. Saari died later himself of a self-inflicted bullet.

NBI officers are also examining Saari's computer. The biggest question in the investigation is the motive of the assailant.
