The 4,000 m2 indoor park in the town of Vuokatti will be completed in December, becoming the largest Angry Birds park in the world as well as the biggest indoor activity park in the Nordics, according to board chairman Juha Tanskanen of SuperPark, which manages the premises.
Bringing the epic battle between bird and pig to life will cost some two million euros. The year-round theme park run under the Angry Birds brand will also include areas for skateboarding and BMX biking.
Last year Angry Birds maker Rovio had a turnover of more than 75 million euros, up from 10 million the year before. About 30 percent of its sales come from toys and licensing deals.
Two and a half years after launching the world’s most popular mobile game, Angry Birds, Rovio last month released its latest offering, Amazing Alex. It briefly became the number-one paid iPhone app in the US before quickly dropping on the sales charts.
