Brief spell of warm weather ahead

The first week of autumn promises a reprieve from mostly grey and wet weather. Temperatures at the beginning of the week are expected to be a few degrees warmer than the average for this time of year.

Rain will cause temperatures to fall Monday, and showers are expected to continue into Tuesday and Wednesday, says Yle meteorologist Kerttu Kotakorpi.

“Next Tuesday and Wednesday will be sunnier and warmer during the day. Temperatures may rise above 20 degrees Celsius in the south, and will settle around 20 degrees in the north,” Kotakorpi said.

According to the meteorologist, after Wednesday conditions will, however, become cooler than is typical for this time of year. Daytime highs in southern and central areas will dip to between 15 and 16 degrees Celsius and to 11–13 degrees in the north.
