Signatories question the construction of a third reactor at the Olkiluoto plant, new plants to be built by Fennovoima and TVO, permits for the extraction of uranium in Finnish mines and the new nuclear waste facility to be constructed by Posiva.

They charge that the worst risks and harmful effects of nuclear power and uranium extraction will be borne by future generations.

The petition, which was gathered online via the adressit.com website, will be presented to parliament on Tuesday morning.
