Cirque du Soleil coming to Finland
The renowned troupe will bring its Alegría show to Helsinki and Turku for the first time in March 2013.
Alegría is billed as “a baroque ode to the energy, grace and power of youth”. The show involves 55 performers and musicians from 15 countries.
Helsinki will see seven performances of the production, while the rest are scheduled for Turku.
Ticket sales begin next Monday, September 10.
Canadian-based Cirque du Soleil is internationally acclaimed for its spectacular shows that mix circus with theatre and dance. It was established in 1984, and since then the troupe’s performances have attracted over 100 million viewers.
Cirque du Soleil last visited Finland in the autumn of 2009 with its Saltimbanco production. That time, over 25,000 spectators in Helsinki and Turku flocked to the see the show.
