Condom Cans Irk Product Control Agency
Finland's Product Control Agency has demanded a small brewing company called Mallaskoski to explain why it has attached condoms to some of its alcoholic drinks.
The brewer, based in the western Finnish city of Seinäjoki, began attaching condom packets to the bottom of cans of lonkero, the popular gin-based mixed drink. Around 10,000 condom cans hit the stores in mid-June.
The newspaper Ilkka reports that the Agency finds the marketing campaign to be questionable, and has demanded an explanation.
Mallaskoski, on the other hand, says the condom cans are not a marketing stunt, but a public awareness campaign.
