Designer starter kits for newborns
Kela's new design newborn starter kits are valued at around 275 euros. Kela has been distributing the packages since the 1930s.
Expectant mothers and their newborns can look forward to a new design maternity kit this year from the Finnish Pension Insurance Company Kela.
The set reflects the autumn colours green, orange with touches of white and grey and features cross-wrapped clothing as well as re-usable diapers.
According to Kela, this year marks the first time that the starter pack for newborns will be delivered in a designer box, the creation of Johanna Öst Häggblöm.
Häggblöm's work was selected in a competition organised among students of Aalto University's school for art and design.
Kela's maternity kit box can also double as a mobile crib for newborns.
On Wednesday Kela unveiled the new packages, which are valued at around 275 euros. About 40-thousand kits will be distributed this year.
