European Union of Tall People gathers in Tampere
The city of Tampere is currently the focal point for tall people from around the globe. Some 200 tall people have gathered in the city for a meeting of like-sized individuals.
The city is also hosting the first meeting of the recently formed European Union of Tall People. Delegates from 13 countries are attending.
Membership rules are simple: women must at least 180 centimetres in height to join with the minimum height for men at 190 centimetres. Some members, though, have a height in excess of two metres.
Conference delegates stress that tall people are not just bold and beautiful but also face difficulties in society because of their height.
