Finland Slips to Sixth on Corruption Ranking
Finland has dropped out of the top five in Transparency International's ranking of the world's least corrupt countries. Nonetheless, Finland is still in a respectable sixth place out of 180 countries in the Corruption Perception Index.
At the top of the list are New Zealand, Denmark, Singapore, Sweden, and Switzerland.
The full effects of this year's election campaign funding scandals will not be seen until next year's rankings, and Finland will probably drop even further in the standings. It was rated the least corrupt for several years running.
Afghanistan and Somalia were rated the most corrupt in the world.
