“I would have liked to read this book when I was fourteen,” said musician Paula Vesala of pop rock duo PMMP, who was one of the judges. Vesala added that the language in the book was particularly beautiful and rythmic.

The winner receives prize money of 30,000 euros. Huotarinen has published three books for young people and three poetry anthologies. She won the Kalevi Jäntti prize in 2009, and the Nuori Manner award in 2007.
