Finnish EU contributions grow

Finnish contributions to the EU budget will increase by nearly 80 million euros next year. The amount the Finnish government receives from the EU is to fall by 11 million euros.

In the budget proposal announced on Monday, Finland’s contribution to next year’s EU budget and development funds amounts to 1.98 billion euros.

The figure is 79 million euros more than the estimate for 2012, and 126 million more than the sum given in the accounts from 2011.

On the other hand, Finland will receive 1.21 million euros from the EU next year. The figure is 11 million euros less than this year, but nine million euros more than in 2011.
