China's Yang Liu came in second and Saichon Konjen of Thailand took third place.

Finland's Leo-Pekka Tähti cruised to a wind-assisted time of 13.63 seconds to win his heat and qualify for Sunday evening’s final in the men's 100-metre T54 class wheelchair race.

“It’s good to have a world record, but there is some room for improvement in the final. The Chinese (Yang Liu) was pulling really fast and not many in the world have finished under 14 seconds. Of course my performance was good, a good warm-up,” Tähti said following his heat.

The Paralympics champion said he was also satisfied with his technical performance overall, adding though, that while he had a very high maximum speed, his reaction time could have been a bit better.
