The injuries of the two wounded men were not life-threatening.

Police say that the incidents began in a building that houses the clubrooms of a group of "skinheads". The first shooting took place in the clubrooms and the second in the immediate vicinity.

"On the basis of the information available at this time, it seems that the shootings were a clash between individuals," Chief Inspector Juha Hakola of the Helsinki Police told Yle.

Police have detained 16 people to determine their involvement in the shootings. Police are also investigating any possible connection to organized crime activities. According to Hakola, some of those detained are associated with an organization known as the United Brotherhood.

The United Brotherhood is a Finnish criminal organization formed by three motorcycle gangs, M.O.R.E., Rogues Gallery and Natural Born Killers in 2010. The group is thought to have 60-70 members. In the past, the gang has been involved in criminal cases including rapes and two brutal murders in which the victims were dismembered.
