Finnish organized crime is involved in serious economic crimes in addition to narcotics. Detective Chief Inspector Arto Tuomela told the paper that the businesses involved provide cover for illegal actions.

He added that economic crimes accounted for one third of all activity by organized gangs at the end of 2010.
