Corporation turnover rose by just under one percent to stand at 473 billion euros. Losses dropped year-on-year from 4.7 million euros to 3.1 million euros.

Itella cut a total of 460 jobs last year. According to President and CEO Jukka Alho, the restructuring measures were essential in a tough competitive climate.

”Electronic communications have cut the delivery necessity of letters and papers,” he notes.

Itella currently employs 27,660 people. A year ago, its payroll strength stood at 29,200.

Sipilä: Finland's next government has to “get results or get out”
