Kemira began layoff discussions in the south-eastern towns of Joutseno and Kuusankoski on Tuesday.

Kemira currently employs 90 workers in Joutseno and 25 in Kuusankoski. Consultative talks were launched in other cities Monday.

The firm announced the job cuts in July as part of a cost-reduction programme.

The retrenchments will affect all employee groups in all of the company’s units in Finland.
