Kosovo Albanians Shocked by Espoo Shooting

The Kosovo Albanian community in Finland has been shocked by Thursday's fatal shooting in Espoo. They consider the event to be a single incident which should not be used against them or other immigrants.

Kosovo Albanian representative Driton Nushi says the shooting was an unfortunate and tragic act, which had shocked the entire nation and all Kosovo Albanians. In an interview given to YLE, he expressed his condolences both to families of the victims and to the family of the suspect.

Nashi emphasized that no member of the Kosovo Albanian community in Finland could accept the crime. Describing it as a single event and a crime of passion, Driton Nashi distanced himself and the entire community from the incident hoping it would never be repeated. “It must not be used as an excuse for racialist acts,” he concluded
