Lepistö to Miss World Championships

Finnish figure skater Laura Lepistö will not compete at the upcoming World Championships in Japan. The Finnish Figure Skating Association announced on Monday that Lepistö injured her back in training last week.

Lepistö was surprisingly named in the World Championship squad despite a difficult season. Her preparations for the World Championships were also affected by flu.

Juulia Turkkila will go to the championships instead of Lepistö. She represented Finland at the European Championships in Bern this year. Kiira Korpi and Bela Papp will also represent Finland.

The World Championships will take place on March 21-27.
