More Employers Could Get Access to Employee Credit Info

More employers could gain the right to inspect employee credit information in the future. The Ministry of Employment and the Economy is preparing the proposal. For instance, the legislation could allow employers to judge the integrity of housecleaners by inspecting their credit ratings. Bankruptcy or debt recovery proceedings could have a bearing on employment decisions. Furthermore, the legislation calls for clearer regulations for employers who wish to review employee credit information. The proposed legislation is to be presented to Parliament in March. YLE
