Russia Became Finland's Biggest Trading Partner

Russia became Finland's largest export and import partner for the first time in July, according to statistics from Finnish Customs.

During the first half of the year exports to Russia spiked by 30 percent, and imports increased by a fourth.

Although this is the first time modern Russia has topped both lists, the Soviet Union was equally important to Finnish trade in 1987.

Exports decreased to the US, China, China, Estonia, and Japan. Imports from Germany and France also declined.
