Television news on Channel Four Finland reports that the Finnish Foreign Ministry is officially asking the United States government for details of a Boeing 707, which landed in Finland on a flight from Afghanistan in the autumn of 2004.

The flight is being associated with the CIA’s transportation of suspected terrorists to the US detention camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Suspicions were aroused when the plane eventually returned to the US and it was announced that prisoners had been moved from Afghanistan to Guantanamo.

The Finnish Foreign Ministry has previously tried to get confirmation of what the plane was actually carrying. However, it seems the US has not provided Finland with any details of the plane’s cargo to date. Now the Finnish Foreign Minister, Erkki Tuomioja, feels that the US should provide more information about the flight. He confirmed that a letter is being sent to the US government asking for specific details of the flight's cargo.
