Tampere Earns Top Marks for Urban Image

Tampere's image beats that of other large cities in Finland, according to research on urban image carried out by pollster Taloustutkimus. The town of Raisio, in south-western Finland, took top honours for mid-sized towns, while Sotkamo, in central Finland, was voted as having the finest image of small towns. The poll carried out annually by Taloustutkimus ranked municipalities on their public image, and strengths and weaknesses. Respondents were also asked to consider the general view of towns and cities. Poll participants were public sector policy-makers and media and business representatives.
