July Cooler and Wetter Than Usual

July has been unseasonably wet in Finland this year. Northern Ostrobothnia and Kuusamo have been hit especially hard.
According to the Finnish Meteorological Institute, the town of Maanselkä in eastern Finland and Lake Kurkijärvi in Northern Ostrobothnia have recorded up to 111.9 millimetres of precipitation. The average rainfall for the entire month of July is around 70 to 80 millimetres.
This month has also been particularly cool, especially in central and northern Finland. Temperatures on average reach over 20 degrees Celsius in July throughout the country.
Meteorologists say July hasn't been this cool since 1993, and hasn't been this rainy since the years 2004 and 2007.
