Karaoke enthusiasts from Kouvola, south-eastern Finland, are attempting to break the world record for continuously sung karaoke. The marathon event, organised by the Karaoke Club Kouvola, begins on Wednesday.

The group is aiming to sing for over three weeks.

The current record is held by singers in China who clocked 214 hours of karaoke singing last year. The Kouvola singers hope to more than double that time with 500 hours.
