Food producer Atria is cutting 115 jobs in Finland. The company believes this will save them around five million euros a year.

Negotiations with employee organisations resulted in the final cutback figures. Forty-two people will be laid off permanently from sites in Nurmo, Seinäjoki, Helsinki, Forssa, Kuopio and Tampere. Thirty-six jobs will be lost through retirement, while 37 people on temporary contracts will not be re-hired.

In addition, 42 people will be furloughed from Atria's factory in Kuopio.

Atria has 2,250 employees in Finland.
