Finnish national air carrier Finnair was forced to cancel five flights on Tuesday due to an overtime ban staged by pilots.

Flights to Rome, Delhi, London, Yektarinberg and Jyväskylä were grounded. Some return flights scheduled on Wednesday will also be affected.

The airline says it will endeavour to offer alternative flights to passengers affected.

Negotiations to avert a full-fledged strike by pilots continued on Tuesday with State Conciliator Esa Lonka leading the discussions. Use of outside labour and the outsourcing of services are at the heart of the dispute.
