Baby Snatched from Carriage Found in Eastern Finland

Police have found a three-month old baby boy who was snatched from his stroller on Monday in the town of Varkaus, in eastern Finland. Officers heard the baby crying and found him covered in snow three hours after his abduction.

The baby boy was found near the area he went missing. Police are investigating the case with the help of the National Bureau of Investigation.

Police say the child had been sleeping outdoors in a baby carriage when he was taken before 11 am.

Authorities launched an extensive search which included a helicopter sent in from the Defence Forces. Police also informed the border control.

The baby was taken from outside his mother's friend's home. His mother was visiting the friend at the time.

Police request anyone with information on the incident to contact them on 071 875 5800.
