A former worker at AC drives manufacturer Vacon is suing the company over a dismissal resulting from smoking during working hours.
The employee was fired from the company in the autumn of 2007.
The plaintiff says the company’s rules don’t apply to all staff members equally, adding that smoking prohibitions only affect the blue-collar staff.
Vacon denies the charges, and says the dismissal was founded on the grounds that the employee in question was aware of the rules and chose to break them repeatedly.
The case is being heard by a Vaasa court.
