Finnish mobile giant Nokia has accused Apple of more unauthorised use of its patents. Nokia says Apple infringed on five patents with its iPhone and iPad products.

Nokia’s latest claim was filed in a court in Wisconsin. Nokia says the disputed patents were not included in earlier legal action against Apple last October.

The latest claim relates to patents on technology for data transmission and positioning data.

The battle between the two smart-phone manufacturers began in October 2009 when Nokia accused Apple of violating its patent in its iPhone. Apple retaliated by filing a complaint about Nokia to the US International Trade Commission (ITC). Apple claimed Nokia had used its patents without permission. It hopes to persuade the ITC to ban Nokia from selling its products in the United States.

Nokia responded with another complaint in December.
