Nokia confirmed its plans to shut down the Salo factory on Friday.
The basis for staff reductions and the schedule for letting employees go were discussed in the consultative negotiations. Another point of consideration was support programmes that Nokia plans to offer those who will lose their jobs.
The plant will be closed in September 2012.
The Salo plant issued its last mobile phone on Wednesday.
The measure is part of a wider restructuring effort the company announced in June, when it unveiled plans to cut 3,700 jobs in Finland and 10,000 jobs worldwide.
