Payment terminals back to normal
Payment terminals were subject to disruption on Tuesday morning. Most returned normal service by early afternoon.
The fault affected the operation of payment terminals in shops and in government offices.
According to Nets Finland, a specialist firm in electronic payments, on-line confirmation data failed to reach terminals. Use of a back-up system partly cured the problem.
The fault was due to third-party computer problems, Nets Finland CEO Päiviö Eerola told Yle.
Similar problems have not been encountered before.
