A storm centre is due in Finland on Wednesday, according to YLE meteorologist Terhi Nikkanen. Wet snow could fell trees weakened by previous storms onto power lines.

Vattenfall reports that its workers are already clearing potentially hazardous trees near power lines before the arrival of the new front of bad weather.

Thousands of homes remain without power after last week's storms. Fortum alone has enlisted 500 workers to fix the recent damage.
