Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov to visit Finland

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Helsinki on August 20 at the invitation of his Finnish counterpart Erkki Tuomioja.

The Foreign Ministers will discuss EU-Russian relations, regional co-operation and bilateral relations.

They will also focus on current foreign and security policy issues such as Syria, the Middle East peace process and Iran.

Lavrov will also meet with both President Sauli Niinistö and Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen.

During his visit, Foreign Minister Lavrov will deliver a speech on EU-Russian relations at the annual gathering of Finnish ambassadors.
