Finnish veteran ice hockey player Teemu Selänne is returning to the Anaheim Ducks for another year, proving that age is nothing but a number.

The 42 year-old is the Ducks’ top scorer. Last season he led Anaheim with 66 points while playing in all 82 games.

“I still feel I can play at a high level,” Selänne said in a comment published on the club’s web page. "As I always say, this is my happy place and I can’t wait to get back on the ice in front of our great fans."

The financial terms of the deal are not disclosed, but media reports put Selänne's expected salary next season at 4.5 million dollars, or in the region of 3.7 million euros.

Selänne is one of just three European-born players to record more than 1,400 NHL points. He has been one of the NHL’s most consistent snipers. In 2007, he helped the Ducks to a maiden Stanley Cup championship.
