Soini: Manner of Halla-Aho's resignation unfair
The Chairman of the Finns Party, Timo Soini, has criticised the treatment given to Jussi Halla-Aho following his resignation as Chair of the Parliamentary Administration Committee.
Speaking at a party meeting in the town of Kajaani, Soini claimed parliament had exceeded the limits of fairness this week. He added the party would not be ordered about by others.
Halla-Aho had been forced to resign from his position following a unanimous decision by other parliamentary groups. In Soini’s view, their action required a post mortem.
The current controversy involves the Supreme Court's decision last week to fine Halla-aho for hate speech on his blog. The ruling sparked Halla-aho to voice derogatory opinions about the judiciary.
