Tyre Warehouse Fire Requires Evacuations in Imatra
A major fire broke out at the Vuoksen Kumi tyre warehouse in Imatra late Sunday night. Around 20 people were evacuated from the vicinity.
There were ten fire fighting units on the scene overnight from Lappeenranta, Imatra, Rautjärvi and Ruokolahti. By the early morning hours of Monday, the blaze had been brought under control and follow-up measures were underway.
Local residents in nearby houses were evacuated by emergency services.
The fire is now being investigated as possible arson.
