Urpilainen warns: Euro crisis not over yet
Finland’s Finance Minister, Jutta Urpilainen, has warned that the eurozone crisis is not over.
She told Yle on Friday that eurozone finance ministers had accepted the Spanish bailout package in a constructive manner. In her view, this had always been the likely outcome.
“All participating nations understand the gravity of the situation,” she noted.
However, Urpilainen said the euro crisis did not end here. Rather, she thought Cyprus would be next in line for help.
The Finnish Parliament approved the Spanish bank bailout and Finland's collateral deal with Spain during a confidence vote on Friday morning, green-lighting Finland's participation in the rescue package alongside other eurozone states.
