The Finnish businessman, an independent consultant, was in Uganda promoting products of the Finnish defense contractor Patria. He was found dead in his hotel room in Kampala on the 6th of this month.
Police said that a toxicology examination revealed a foreign substance that could have caused the death, but did not specify what the substance was.
A police spokesman told Yle that the body showed no signs of physical injury. The body was returned to Finland last week where an autopsy will be performed.
The deceased was carrying a forged letter of invitation when he arrived in Uganda. Police there have not yet determined who issued the letter.

On Monday, Yle received a copy of a report on the incident from the majority state-owned Finnish defense contractor Patria which had been filed last Wednesday with Economic Affairs Minister Mika Lintilä, who also serves as the Minister for State Ownership steering.
The businessman who died on the 6th was carrying Patria product brochures and had received permission from the company's Land business division's marketing director to market its products in Uganda and Mozambique.
According to Patria CEO Olli Isotalo, permission to carry out marketing was not granted. Two of the Land division's top executives resigned from Patria on Friday.
Former Minister of Communications and National Coalition Party MP Suvi Lindén has confirmed that she was in Uganda at the same time as the deceased.
