August's Flow Festival has been cancelled, say organisers on the festival's website. Ticketholders can get a refund or a ticket to the following year's festival.
Organisers said they had followed the coronavirus situation closely, and had reached the conclusion that they could not guarantee the safety of the audience or performers this summer.
The festival had been scheduled for 15-16 August. Flow was organised for the first time in 2004 at the former VR warehouse near the Central Railway Station. Since 2007 has been held at the disused Suvilahti power plant just east of Helsinki city centre.
It drew some 83,000 people last year and has earned rave reviews in the international media.
The news follows the announcement this week that Helsinki Festival and its Night of the Arts, key parts of the late-summer cultural scene in the capital, would be cancelled this year.
The government has banned events with other 500 people through the end of July, but has not made any ruling about August events.
