Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto (Green) has contracted Covid, the government said late on Saturday.
Haavisto, who is asymptomatic, is working remotely.
"The rest of the government has been informed and so has Parliament," the government's spokesperson, Päivi Paasikoski, told Finnish news agency STT.
She said Haavisto got tested for coronavirus ahead of an upcoming work trip, which was cancelled following his positive result on Saturday evening.
Paasikoski said she could not estimate how many people Haavisto had potentially exposed to the virus.
Earlier this week Haavisto attended the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Stockholm. Prior to travelling to Sweden he was in Riga for a meeting of NATO foreign ministers.
This week, Prime Minister Sanna Marin (SDP), who had been suffering from cold symptoms, tested negative for coronavirus.
