The Ukrainian flag has been hoisted on nine flag poles above the banks of the Aurajoki River in Turku, and they will remain up around-the-clock, until further notice, according to the city.
The first flag was raised on Tuesday morning by Turku Mayor Minna Arve.
The nine flagpoles are located on the western promenade between Kristiinankatu and the Auransilta bridge.
Normally, the poles are used to fly the city's branded flag and, periodically or on request, other flags for events, organisations and other instances.
Ukraine's flag code allows for 24-hour display.
Last week, two protestors painted the Ukrainian flag on a parking spot outside the Russian consulate in the city, which local authorities have refused to remove.
