Biaudet made the announcement at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Eva Biaudet took up the post of Ombudsman for Ethnic Minorities in May of last year. She is a former UN official and has acted as the OSCE's special representative in work against human trafficking.
Biaudet was a member of the Finnish Parliament from 1991 to 2006, serving two years in government as Minister of Health and Social Services.
