Fresh phishing attempt on Nordea bank customers

Finnish customers of the Nordea banking group have again been subject to a phishing attempt. The fraudsters attempted to steal personal user codes by means of false web pages masquerading as a genuine Nordea operated site.

The IT security firm F-Secure has warned customers to avoid the phony site, which asks for customers’ personal access codes.

The false site with the address solo1.nordea-fi.com resembles closely Nordea’s own site with the address solo.nordea.fi.

Nordea customers were subject to phishing attempts last week and in July. E-mails written in poor Finnish were sent to customers in an attempt to direct them to a bogus site.

The Stockholm-based Nordea has operations in Denmark, Finland, Latvia, Norway and Sweden.
