Die-hard fans showed up 24 hours before the group’s arrival. Waiting paid off for Linda Repo, who got her hands on the first Imaginaerum album sold in Finland.
“I can’t wait to go home and listen to it,” she said.
While many fans admitted to missing former lead singer Tarja Turunen, they said expectations for the new album were high.
The group's record label claims that Nightwish is the most successful Finnish band internationally, with over seven million records sold globally.
“The secret of our success lies in our Finnish 'sisu,' or stamina, and authenticity,” said Nightwish main man and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen.
Earlier this month the former manager of the one-time lead singer of Nightwish, Tarja Turunen, went to court over an authorised book about the group. Marcelo Cabuli is suing the author and publisher of Once Upon a Nightwish: The Official Biography 1996-2006 for libel.
