The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has launched a preliminary investigation into aerospace and defence group Patria's deals in Egypt.
The aim of the investigation is to determine whether Patria's subsidiaries or personnel are guilty of bribery in connection with the company's field gun manufacturing technology sales in Egypt.
Public claims have been made that "incentive money" changed hands.
The NBI is also making a preliminary investigation into Patria's tank deals in Slovenia, in which the company is also suspected of having given bribes.
Two persons were detained on Tuesday and searches were conducted at Patria's premises in Vammala, Hämeenlinna and Tampere in connection with the Slovenia deals.
Patria has denied the bribery claims and has moreover asked the police to investigate whether information on the Egypt deals has been published in a manner violating company confidentiality.
