Schools Under Watchful Camera Eye

Surveillance cameras are being installed in some Finnish schools.

The first cameras have been installed at schools in Turku and Helsinki, reports the newspaper Turun Sanomat.

Their aim is to prevent vandalism, graffiti and hopefully cases of school bullying. Cameras will be used to monitor various situations at schools and to promote quieter break periods.

Cameras have been installed in such a way as not to infringe on the privacy of either students or teachers.
