Government Considers Revival Plan for Finnish Business

The government is planning a massive support package for struggling companies, led by Minister of Economic Affairs Mauri Pekkarinen.

The financial paper Kauppalehti reported Tuesday that the state plans to earmark hundreds of millions of euros for the plan.

Minister of Economic Affairs Mauri Pekkarinen has pledged money for boosting exports and investments. In addition, the government wants to raise the cap on guarantees for losses on bad credit.

These proposals will come before Parliament next month.
