More arrests in biker gang crackdown

Police are asking the courts to remand several gang members in custody following raids on motorcycle gangs in several cities earlier this week.

Investigators have apprehended further suspects following a large-scale operation on Tuesday that targeted gang members' homes and other buildings. Police have also uncovered more illegal firearms in addition to the stolen goods, weapons and ammunition they confiscated on Tuesday. Senior gang figures are among those detained in the operation targeting organised crime.

The police crackdown homed in on properties used by Hells Angels and the affiliated group Bad Machine 81 Finland in Vantaa, Espoo and Lappeenranta. Searches were also carried out in Helsinki, Tuusula and Lahti.

More than 150 officers were involved in the operation.
