Additional aid to Syrian conflict victims

Finland is providing an additional one million euros to aid victims of the crisis in Syria. Half will be channelled through that the United Nations Children's Fund Unicef.

Since 2011, Finland has provided 11.1 million euros in humanitarian aid to help ease the plight of those affected by the conflict in Syria.

Half of the additional one million eruos will be channelled through that the United Nations Children's Fund Unicef, and the remaining 500,000 euros is being provided to programmes of the World Health Organization WHO.

The conflict has impacted the lives of over three million children. Over half of Syria's hospitals have been closed because of the fighting.
